Who We Serve
of the guests who receive services from NoHo Home Alliance are BIPOC+, including 35% Black participants and 25% Latinx participants.
nearly one-third, of people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles County are Black. When we look at Los Angeles as a whole, only 8% of the population is Black.
Why do we see this disproportionate representation?
Communities of color face numerous barriers to securing safe and reliable housing. Historical and systematic racial discrimination in housing, criminal justice, and economic systems continue to perpetuate the cycles of poverty.
When your community faces these oppressive systems, even the starting line can be miles away. The fight against homelessness cannot be separated from advocacy against anti-racist actions. We aim to reverse the harms created by inequitable systems.
